Justin Ansell joins Collins McKay

Justin joins Collins McKay Building Consultancy as a Director, following a number of years heading up the Professional Services Dept at a City based building surveying practice.

Following a stint with HM Forces, he began his construction career in the early Nineties working with a Site Investigation Team for a materials testing consultancy before being employed by well-known Central London surveying practices and obtaining professional qualifications.

Justin brings a wealth of expertise across the commercial and residential sectors, with a particular specialism for pre-acquisition surveys of larger multi million pound commercial acquisitions for off shore consortium and institutional or pension fund clients.

His forte rests with conducting complex lease dilapidations matters for landlords and tenants; he has acted in an Expert Witness role on a number of successful mediations. In 2013, he represented the landlord in the milestone litigation trial between Hammersmatch Properties (Welwyn) Limited  vs Saint Gobain, on which many subsequent cases have been predicated.

In addition to the normal range of contract administration, project management and fit out scheme experience, Justin also has an interest in the Party Wall Etc Act 1996 and has successfully managed a variety of complicated Central London basement extension situations for affluent homeowners.

Tim Collins, Managing Director, commented: “We look forward to welcoming Justin into the Team to assist and provide the requisite level of expertise to Collins McKay’s established client service line.”
